When a person shuts down in the relationship it only causes more problems. Shutting down isn't the mature or proper way to handle any problem or issue. If you love who you're with, communication is necessary. Sometimes people shut down because it's what they're used to doing because they don't like confrontation. I'm very sorry, but they weren't exempt and neither are you. We all have to take the journey. You'll either suffer the loss of a loved one or they will suffer the loss of you. Someone is going first, because we all will die. It's something that we all must accept. We should understand it will happen. When a person is of that mindset, they learn how to handle loss much better. It doesn't mean they don't hurt, but they know in life for as long as we live, we will lose a loved one. If they don't love you, there's nothing you can do to make them love you. Love yourself enough to move on. You should never want anyone who don't want you.
