Aug 26, 2025This episode we reviewed The Fantastic Four: First Steps. All we can say is that this is a glorious film. It’s a magnificent display of style and story telling. The pace in which the movie was done, the cgi used for the characters was amazing, and we finally got an actual Galactus, not a tropical space storm.
The stylization, story, acting, and heart behind this film is remarkable. It can't be stated enough. The care and concern given to each member helped enhance the overall story and team fabric.
This movie had humor, heart, and...

Aug 15, 2025First and foremost, Mr. Terrific was the star of this movie. And, oddly enough, we forgot to mention anything about Edi Gathegi's magnificent performance.
He WAS God Damned Mr. Terrific and we didn't say anything about him.
100% our bad.
And, the rest of this review is just fucking pointless, but listen anyway. Just jokes.
This movie did so much for our overall psyche. It was bright, hopeful, beautiful, and human. This was the feel and style that we were hoping for from Superman. It's what we needed from Superman.
Hope...
Duration: 00:40:21Chapter 11: Andor and Predator: Killer of Killers
Aug 06, 2025John, Manny, and Kirk discuss the latest installment in the Star Wars franchise, Andor. It was really an amazing show and really helped ground the Star Wars franchise outside Jedi and the force.
It's such a beautiful story filled with love, hope, despair, uncertainty, and the fledgling development of the Rebellion that helped overthrow the Empire. No role or character was wasted.
And, the reimaging of an old tale with the sophisticated and stylish animated movie, Predator: Killer of Killers. The premise of this movie asks "What happens to all of the "prey" that bested th...

May 05, 2025This chapter takes us waaaaaay back to our last episode (Phew! Way way back).
We talk about Daredevil:Born Again on Disney+ once again. This show was really well done and makes for great conversation. There are some spoilers, so just a heads up.
Ryan Coogler's sinners is a cinematic masterpiece according to Kirk. We speak on the gap that is in Hollywood of marginalized folk creation. Ryan Coogler is not only a great director, he is a great director who is Black.
Is this step taken by Warner Bros. enough of a mil...

May 02, 2025**SPOILER WARNING: If you haven't seen DD:BA, then there are spoilers you may not want to hear...and you need to watch that shit ASAP. **
Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+ picks up right where the Netflix shows left off. We see Carlton...errrr Wilson Fisk (if you listen you'll get this joke) and Matt Murdock pick up right where they left off.
There is a mutual respect between the two of them, but also and understanding that either of them will do what they have to in order to do what they believe to...
Chapter 08: Talking more Wolverine, Kirk was Wrong, and What is Exciting Us this Summer
Mar 11, 2025This is a continuation from the last Chapter (Episode). Listen here if you missed it
We continue talking about Wolverine and how his character could have been/done so much more in the MCU. Old Man Logan and Weapon X are such great stories and it would have been awesome to see those in live action. And, who knows, we might. (until your 90!)
Also, Kirk mentions Amalgam, the gawd awful Marvel and DC crossover that was at best just awful. That's all we will say about that.
And, last but definitely not least, S...
Duration: 00:41:58Chapter 07: The End of Diamond Printing / Deadpool & Wolverine Review (Finally!!)
Feb 21, 2025This episode will talk about the fall of Diamond publishing and what repercussions will come with that for smaller comics and publishers. What are some different ways to get comics out and what does this hold for the future.
And finally, talking Deadpool & Wolverine. It's not going to be a magnificant break down of the movie with easter eggs and all that, but rather an accounting of what we liked or disliked about the movie.
Like, where the fuck is Cable during this time traveling movie?
Always a good listen and a fun tim...
Duration: 00:49:07Chapter 06: An In Depth Review of MAX's The Penguin
Dec 31, 2024Matt Reeve's The Batman birthed one of the most unique and interesting characters that hadn't really been explored before.
With only about 10 minutes of screen time, Colin Farrell's version of Oswald Cobb(lepot) was so impactful that they created a series for that character aptly called, The Penguin on MAX.
This show did a deep dive into the psyche of Oswald and how he went from a poor nobody to the underground crime King of Gotham. And, the underbelly of Gotham is truly exposed like it hasn't been before in any series, even the show...
Chapter 05: Beauty is Embarrassing Documentary with guest Debra Naeve
Nov 17, 2024On this podcast, Debra Naeve joins us to talk about her former school alumnus, Wayne White while we dive into his documentary "Beauty Is Embarrassing."
We also talk about how Debra isn't a witch, and also what makes Wayne White's approach to life and art so refreshing and inspiring.
"Art" is creation. It is the means to do and make something you like. At some point, artists have to start looking at their work as a means of commodity as opposed to. a means of expression.
How do we embrace that little kid th...
Chapter 04: Client Feedback, Batman Day, and The Penguin
Oct 04, 2024One of the biggest problems...errrrr fun frustrations with doing any type of artwork for clients. We really want to make clients happy, but also realize that sometimes their "vision" may get in the way of the artist interpretation. Such a fine line to walk.
Also, Manuel had a chance to be a featured artist at one of his local comic stores on Batman Day. The print that he made for that is siiiiiiiiiiiiiick.
And, the Penguin. The new show on HBO Max adapted from the Oswald Cobb character in Matt Reeves' The Batman with Ro...

I didn't either. Give it a listen to find out more.

On this episode, we will speak towards that evolution of Batman. How he went from a detective, to a weekly serial, to a master detective, a great animated television series, strategist, and eventually, Bat God.
