What a Child Abuse Detective Learned During His Career Investigating Child Abuse
Jan 08, 2026In this episode, I review an interview with a retired child abuse investigation detective who spent nine years working on some of the most difficult cases in policing.
Rather than focusing on graphic detail, this conversation is about reflection — what this work does to you, what it teaches you about trauma, and how complex child abuse investigations really are. It also raises an important question: when systems fail, is it down to bad officers, or a broken system that is underfunded, overloaded, and stretched beyond its limits?
I know many people have had te...
Duration: 01:02:59Stopping People from Sexually Abusing Children — for the First Time or Again
Nov 27, 2025Stopping people from abusing children requires intervention long before harm is done — and long after someone has crossed a line.
In this episode, Jeremy sits down with StopSO, a UK charity specialising in therapeutic work with offenders and people at risk of offending, to explore how early intervention, behaviour change, and specialised therapy can protect children from sexual harm.
This conversation looks at what actually helps people stop, why punishment alone isn’t enough, and how prevention can reduce harm for children, families, and communities.

How I Got 30 Kids Hooked on Safeguarding with a Clever Gaming Analogy
Oct 30, 2025n this video, you’ll see the full recording of me delivering my primary school safeguarding session — designed especially for children in Years 3 and 4 (ages 7–9).
I wanted to find a way to teach body safety and online safety that actually connected — not just another formal talk that goes over their heads.
So, I turned safeguarding into one big game.
Together, we moved through different “levels” — learning about:
🎮 Rules that help us stay safe (Level 1)
💛 Feelings and what they tell us (Level 2)
👥 Who’s on our team (Level 3)

Sep 29, 2025When it comes to children and teenagers, their behaviour around bodies, boundaries, and sexuality can be complex — and often misunderstood.
- What’s normal curiosity?
- What’s problematic?
- And where does it cross into being harmful or even violent?
In this episode, I sit down with Dr Jennifer Allotey, forensic psychologist and social worker, to unpack these difficult questions. We discuss:

Sep 10, 2025Bonnie Blue has built a huge following — and makes over £1 million a month — by leaning into schoolgirl and “barely legal” fantasies. But why are these themes so popular, why do they spread so easily on social media, and what does her success say about us as a society?
In this episode, I explore:
- How Bonnie Blue “cracked the code” of algorithms
- Why outrage and support both fuel her rise
- The dangers of normalising virginity and “barely legal” fantasies
- What this means for young people seeing her conten...

Jul 28, 2025In this episode, I speak with Dr. Angela Tan about how to talk to children and young people about their bodies, consent, personal boundaries, and safety. It’s an honest, respectful, and practical conversation to help parents, teachers, and anyone working with children feel more confident navigating these tough — but essential — topics. Because if we don’t talk to them, someone else will… and that person may not have their best interests at heart.

In this powerful live talk, I speak directly to Year 8 students about how abuse often doesn’t look like violence — and why speaking up matters. Duration: 00:50:551-in-6 Men Say They’re Attracted to Under-18s — Why This Matters
May 27, 2025A new study found that 1 in 6 men admit feeling sexual attraction to children — including teenagers under the age of 18.
In this episode, I break down the findings, challenge the stereotypes about who offenders are, and explore what this means for how we protect children and teens today.
Too often, we imagine offenders as “creepy strangers” or people we’d spot a mile off. But the reality is more complex — and more uncomfortable. If we don’t understand that, we can’t keep children safe.
This episode isn’t about blame. It’s about aware...
Duration: 00:43:17What I Told 9-year Old Students About Body Safety, Secrets and Trust
May 13, 2025This was a big moment for me.
It was the first time I’d ever been invited to speak to Year 5 students—children just 9 and 10 years old. And I won’t lie… I was nervous.
This session is about body safety, the importance of speaking up, and how to recognise when something doesn’t feel right. I speak honestly, but gently—because young children deserve to be informed and protected without being overwhelmed.
This isn’t just a lesson—it’s the conversation I wish someone had with me at that age.

Understanding how a child becomes a target | Interview with Anna Sonoda
Apr 10, 2025In this episode, Jeremy speaks with Anna Sonoda, author of Duck Duck Groom, about how grooming works and how adults—not children—must be empowered to recognize and interrupt it. Drawing from her experience working with sexual offenders, Anna explains the four stages of grooming—flattery, favoritism, forbidden fruits, and fear—and emphasizes that grooming is intentional, gradual, and observable. The conversation focuses on the need for adult education, strong communication with children, and community-wide action to prevent abuse before it happens.

(For example, a 15-year old is very different to a 9-year old)

Caroline speaks about the techniques they use with children as young as 3-years old, the challenges of doing a job like this a...
Duration: 00:50:42DISCUSSION: Is porn turning teenage boys aggressive?
Oct 24, 2023Alcohol, cigarettes and films have age restrictions on them, but when it comes to pornography, everything changes.
We’ve now got 13-year old boys watching hours of extreme content, like girls being gagged so forcefully during oral that they can hardly breathe. And all of this before these boys have even kissed a girl in real life.
How is this changing their brains?
I’ve reviewed an article from The Guardian newspaper that tells of a rise in teenage sex offences where immoral, abusive and non-consensual behaviour is happening and the b...
Duration: 00:41:25DISCUSSION: Sexual abuse can feel nice
Oct 10, 2023This is shocking I know. But I want to speak more on this. There are many situations where force and violence are not used. It can be gentle, considered as caring, making the child feel like they are doing a good thing by letting the adult touch them in between their legs.
Think about 5-years olds, 7-year olds etc, still so vulnerable, and I know this is uncomfortable, but if we don’t start unpacking the reality of this, we stand no chance.

Duration: 00:47:36INTERVIEW: Teenagers having sex whilst still confused on consent
Sep 27, 2023If your hooking up with someone for the first time - maybe at a party or a night out - how would you get consent? Pull out a contract and ask them to sign it? Ask every 5-minutes ‘is it still a yes’?
Confusing right? And we’re the adults here, now imagine what it’s like to be a teenager, with the added pressure of schools telling you one thing, the law saying something else and the reality of the situation being completely different from both of these.
Dr. Emily Setty talks about al...

Duration: 01:32:58INTERVIEW: Is paedophilia in the brain from birth?
Aug 11, 2023I’ve interviewed Dr. James Cantor, an internationally recognised sex researcher, neuroscientist and psychologist. He discussed his findings with paedophilia (when someone’s arousal comes from children) and how we stand the best chance, as a society, of ensuring the crime never happens in the first place.
And before anyone says ‘just kill em’, I’m not talking about our options AFTER the crime’s been committed, I’m talking about BEFORE. Can we reach that person when they’re a teenager, or even as soon as they start thinking about hurting a child for the first time.
REACTION: Paedophile's speak out in new documentary
Jul 27, 2023Paedophile’s ask why we only get involved once they’ve offended.
They’re asking why nobody answers their calls for help before it happens, why no therapist, no counsellor will work with them, leaving them to their own devices where offending becomes much more likely.
How are you feeling as you read this?
Whatever your emotions are, I urge you to go check out my new podcast episode where I review a documentary that questions, if as a society, we are serious about the safety of children, why the hell are...

Jul 27, 2023Does comedy have a place here or not? Can it be used to break the heaviness of this conversation and help it reach new audiences? This comedian, Jonny Pelham goes around the country making jokes about his own story to lighten the load.
I go through his work in my new podcast episode. Whether you disagree or not with his approach, check out what he’s got to say.

Jun 29, 2023I believe the majority of us would respond with "YES" to this question, but I don't think it's as simple as that. As we look closer, there are many things to consider, for example, what happens if the offender was your son.

Duration: 00:33:35INTERVIEW: Ex-police officer speaks on prosecuting paedophiles
Jun 24, 2023Child abuse is one of the most horrific crimes that can be committed, and the people who are tasked with investigating and prosecuting it face enormous challenges and risks. In this episode of the Jeremy Indika Podcast, Jeremy speaks with Mike Brewer, who is a retired detective sergeant and who has had experience dealing with child abuse cases, especially those involving paedophiles. Mike shares his insights on the nature and extent of this problem, the difficulties in gathering evidence and bringing perpetrators to justice, and the emotional and psychological impact of his work on himself and his colleagues. Duration: 00:55:10DISCUSSION: Liam's touching his cousins private parts.
Jun 19, 2023We all know that kids love to play together, and it's great for their self-esteem. Being active and using their imagination helps them grow. We watch them play and think everything's fine, right? They seem very active and happy!
But here's something to think about: imagine a 7-year-old named Liam and his cousin. They came up with a game that wasn't appropriate, and they kept it a secret from the grown-ups for years. This short story makes us wonder about what children may be exposed to without us knowing and how it can affect them as...

Duration: 01:10:27REACTION: Young and vulnerable teenage girls
May 19, 2023When you reflect on how you were as a teenager, eager to impress and looking for attention, you start to remember how vulnerable that stage of your life was. In fact, it’s quite scary to think, you honestly believed that you knew everything at that age.
I’ve now learnt how that attitude leaves a teenager open. Open to manipulation by adults who want to take advantage of them, especially online.
In my new podcast episode, I review a video from author Gavin de Becker, who explains a teenagers nature in more deta...
Duration: 00:31:06DISCUSSION: Both sides of the Dalai Lama discussion
Apr 29, 2023I'm worried about doing this. It's a discussion that's become hugely charged from both sides. Some people calling for the Dalai Lama to be prosecuted for his actions, whilst others saying how dare you accuse someone who's devoted their life to kindness of such crimes. After seeing how things have played out since the video clip of him asking the boy to suck his tongue went hugely viral all over the internet, I wanted to see if I could present both sides of the discussion so that we could talk about it together. Because if we can't talk about...

Beth Hoel spent 25-years working with prisoners who had served their sentence and were now released back into the community. She explains some of the things she learnt along the way.

Apr 12, 2023There’s problems with my school presentation. People are surrounding me with red tape telling me I need to do this and need to do that. Why do us adults complicate everything? I can engage a room full of teenagers into something that traditional classroom techniques cannot. That should be enough.

Duration: 00:02:17REACTION: Should paedophile's spend their life in prison? - GMB
Apr 02, 2023Obviously, our answer to this is YES. But this lawyer comes onto national TV to explain why it's not possible. There are 100,000 convicted sex offenders currently on the register (walking our streets), and to put them all in prison for life would come at an astronomical cost that no one is prepared to pay for. Alongside the fact that our prison capacity is 85,000 and it’s already full with other criminals.
