Mrs. Allen had an idea! She thinks we should come out to the garage every night (when time allows) and share something random, crazy, a fail, etc., in 15 minutes or less. Welcome to the Nightly Dos! We started with a parent fail!

What is it like when we have a week off together around the holidays? Well, we didn’t rest much. And someone went down at the end the week!

What will it be this year? Are we going to stick with what we gave up in 2025? And what even is a resolution?

We are trying to get ready for vacation. But first we had to get the backup hog slaughtered and one kid didn’t handle it very well. Is all the effort worth the vacation?

We’ve been decluttering for days! How is it going, what did we find, and how much have we cleared out?

School is almost out for summer! We try to figure out affordable vacation options, summer bucket lists, and we survived our local carnival…kind of.

A lot of people reached out asking for more information about our daughter’s medical journey and the timeline of it. In this episode we tried to break it down a little better. There’s a little more to the episode as well. It’s not all serious.

Our daughter has been dealing with a variety of medical issues that have continued to get worse. We finally decided to put it out there in hopes that we can find some answers.

Kimberly is a big planner and Jason isn’t. We dig into the planner, literally! And should we put “relations” in the planner?

Jason read the book and didn’t tell Kimberly. We work through all five languages. Does one of us not have a love language?

This is not one of my traditional episodes but I though it was worth sharing.  Our friend and country legend Pam Tillis joined us on KRRM.  Pam is one of the best people you will ever meet.

Ashley and I will host the new morning show 94-7 KRRM Your Brand of Country.  We talked about how this all came about and why decided to take a leap of faith.  We also rolled a live video at the same time and answer questions along the way.  This was a lot of fun!

Gretchen is a Special Education Teacher at Grants Pass High School.  She also put out a country music album, played college basketball, is a coach, and much more.  We talked about A LOT!  From the effects Covid has had on her students to pooping your pants and everything in between.  This episode is probably not for the kids.  You’ve been warned!  Enjoy!

Stepped into the garage for a few minutes to give a quick update on life.

Many of my friends have been affected by the fires in Oregon this year.  If you listened to Episode 009 you know that Joe is from Mill City, Oregon.  I wanted to have him back over so we could talk about what happened in his hometown and in the Santiam Canyon he once called home.  We discussed forest policy, a legendary environmentalist, the fall of once great timber towns, and much more.

Michael and I got together to talk about the Almeda Fire.  He is on the Phoenix School Board and his wife is a teacher at the high school where she was preparing for school to start when the fire broke out.  We discussed the devastation, emergency response, emergency preparedness, where do we go from here, and much more.

Where do we start?  Ashley was a guest in the garage about 8 months ago.  Much has changed for her since then.  Covid-19 changed how we do our radio show together on Q100.3, how she does her job, and she also took on a part time job at a gym.  She has completely changed how she lives her life with fitness becoming a lifestyle.  We took a deep dive into all of the above over a bottle of Snoop Dogg wine.  Warning…there is some profanity!

Jaqi is one of my favorite people and she’s also one of the nicest people you will ever meet.  She was a mechanic in the Army.  We talked about her tour in Bosnia in the early 2000’s, music, tattoos, art, kindness, and more.  Enjoy!

Deputy Strohmeyer with the Jackson County Sheriffs Office is back in the garage.  We discussed the new homeless camp area in Medford, his job tackling the homeless situation on the Bear Creek Greenway, the current climate with police officers, canning, gardening, life, and more!

Clyde is a 2013 graduate of Hidden Valley High School.  He was 16 years old when his life changed forever.  Find out how an accident paralyzed him and what he’s done to be able to walk again.  His story is inspiring!

They recently sold their dream home in Washington state.  Why?  So they could buy an R.V. and travel across the country with their five children.  It’s not the vacation you’d expect.  Ericka was on season 12 of The Voice and has also written two children’s books.  Mattaniah is also a musician who worked in real estate.  Find out where their adventure has already taken them and why they decided to do it.

Jessie is a country music recording artist who signed with Gretchen Wilson’s Redneck Records.  She grew up in Brookings, OR.  Jessie’s heritage spans across four generations of commercial fishermen, and she spent much of her childhood aboard the hand-built family boat; searching for Dungeness crab and albacore tuna, and then selling their catch at the market and in their family restaurant.  We recorded this podcast at their family restaurant The Catalyst.  We covered a lot of topics!

He’s the morning show host and Program Director for 107.5 KISS-FM in Medford, OR.  He’s also the official D.J. for the Oregon Ducks (Football, Basketball, and Track) and an all around great guy!  Meet my friend Gemineye.

I wanted to talk to these guys about what it was like to have the biggest event of the year in Grants Pass not happen due to Covid-19 and what that means for the community.  We also talked about the current state of our country, what it’s like for J.J. right now being a teacher, riots, a little politics, and more.

This is one of my favorite podcasts yet.  I reached out to my sister who is a hair stylist and has been out of work because of the Corona virus.  She also started nursing school recently.  We talked about her current situation that includes all of that plus juggling 5 kids in a blended family, what it was like to lose her boyfriend in a car accident, and much more.

Daleen was one of the first (if not the first) females to coach boys basketball in Oregon.  She also played college basketball at Umpqua Community College while pregnant.  She’s an awesome mom, grandma, and one of my favorite people!  Take a listen as we discuss many different topics.

I wanted to see how some of our teachers and administrators around the Rogue Valley are doing.  I talked with Mr. Kelly (3rd grade Mae Richardson Central Point), Mrs. Campbell (Health Occupations Phoenix H.S.), and Mr. Musser (Principal Allen Dale Elementary Grants Pass).  They all have a unique perspective of the current situation with the Corona virus.

Stacy Pederson is an innovator. After failing in every conceivable way (her words) Stacy chose to reinvent herself. She is now a sought-after Keynote Motivational Speaker who gives audiences fun—yet practical actions on how to overcome stress, handle change, be more resilient, and live a life that matters.  She has also knocked on deaths door and lived to talk about it.

Brad has helped organize over 100 experts that are currently working on a dozen different solutions for hospital supply chains, ranging from PPE to ventilator manifolds, sanitation to safe grocery store practices. This is a grass roots effort that includes many experts and manufacturers in Southern Oregon and far beyond. It’s called Covid Skunkworks!  The goal is to create technical documentation that can be easily understood and implemented around the entire world in garages and manufacturing facilities that would not typically be used for this type of equipment.

She was my co-host for a year on Q100.3, has won a CMA Award for Large Market Personality of the Year, is the host of the Pound This Podcast, has a cookbook, seasonings, and much more.  We talk about health, Corona virus, eating disorders, our personal lives, the future, and more.

Micheal and I hooked up via the internet to talk about what is happening in America with the Corona virus.  He was in his “Beyond The Band” studio and I was in my bedroom.  I will be working remotely for a while.  Take a listen as we discuss our current situations.

Gerrin served in the United States Navy, is a business owner (Cigar Cave and more), and has been in the Grants Pass active club for almost 20 years.  He had the privilege of leading the club as President for two terms.  We talked about all of this and more!

J.R. works for the Central Point Police Department and is currently a School Resource Officer for Central Point schools.  We talked about his military service, going oversees to Iraq, what it’s like working in law enforcement in his home town, sports, his role in the D.A.R.E. program (bullying), and much more!

Michael played offensive line for the Oregon Ducks.  He’s the President and CEO of the Insurance Lounge and also started the Oregon Athlete Foundation and 100 percent tip.  Find out what drives him and much more!

Don is the Vice President of Marketing and Advertising for BI-MART.  He has spent the last 49 years working for BI-MART.  We talked about how that came about, different challenges facing retail, our friendship, music festivals, and more!

Chris is headed to Florida to donate stem cells to a complete stranger who has cancer.

These ladies are smart, funny, and have the biggest hearts.  They hunt, fish, play in the band, are St. Jude warriors, and so much more!  Did I mention they are only 16 and 13?  Superstars!

It has been a strange week.  So I decided to go out in the garage and talk about it.

Steve is the President and CEO of Swanson Group.  We talked about success, failures, eco-terrorism, wildfires, the state of the timber industry, how he ended up in a documentary, meeting a U.S. President, and much more.

He’s a National Producer for Dateline on NBC.  We talked about what it was like to grow up in a small town in Montana, working with Keith Morrison, covering the Olympics, his connection to Pearl Jam, and much more.

He’s a friend, father, and local law enforcement officer in Southern Oregon.  He served in the Navy and was deployed three times to Afghanistan and Iraq.  Not only did he respond to the mass shooting at U.C.C. he almost lost his life this year on the job here in Southern Oregon.

She’s my morning show co-host (and Program Director) on Q100.3!  We talked for almost two hours about everything from anxiety, the danger of prescription pills, life changing surgery, success, life, our relationship, and much more.

Jesse and his family lost their house, business, and more in the Camp Fire in Paradise, CA.  He talked about what it was like to lose everything, how they found Grants Pass, dirt track racing, and how they’re doing now.

My 3 year old son Preston hopped up in the chair and put the headphones on so I hit record.  I didn’t edit this at all.  We go inside the mind of a 3 year old.  And there is a hint about an upcoming guest.

Before he let a future country music star sleep on his couch he worked in the woods, sang in a band, worked for a legend in the car business, and now runs Medford BMW.  And he’s a small town Oregon boy like myself!

Not only are we great friends but we both got fired by the same guy.  At 32 years old he runs a company, has served on the Medford School Board, and is an all around good guy!

They met in the Army, served in the same unit as Bowe Bergdahl (who went missing) in Afghanistan, helped in the search for Bergdahl, and started their own brewery with friends.

Justin and I talked about what it was like to get fired and then start his own business from scratch.  And a whole lot more!

Jackson County Sheriff’s Deputy Strohmeyer talked about what it’s like to patrol the Bear Creek Greenway, survive cancer, have a son with a major health problem, and lose 10 days of your life.
