Both sides of our political world have created a big problem with inflation! And both sides seem to be happy to put it off as an affordability problem that needs additional government help.

And do we pick on a smaller country like Venezuela because they should be easy to bully? How about countries that are more involved in fentanyl like Mexico, China and some others?

From Gold to Chaos: The Psychology of Fiat Money After 1971 (309)
Dec 03, 2025

(This is a rebroadcast of episode 199)

In this episode of Libertarians Talk Psychology, we dive deep into one of the most defining economic turning points in modern U.S. history: 1971, the year President Nixon ended the Bretton Woods agreement and removed the dollar from the gold standard. This decision—often overlooked—set in motion decades of inflation, currency distortion, and financial instability that still affect every aspect of life today. Drawing on Dave Smith’s compelling explanation, we explore how radically different the world could have been if the U.S. had maintained a stable, sound money supply. Imagin...

Nov 19, 2025

Our country has a decades-long history of candidates promising to reduce war and spending. And then, of course, when they get in office, they seem to do the opposite, no matter which political persuasion. The only good news is that when the public feels deceived, they Elect the opposite party. But of course within a year it is just more of the same.

Ron Paul has reminded us that there is no perfection either by liberty or by tyranny. He suggested the solution is to introduce more individual voluntary choice into our system.

She explores how groups naturally create boundaries to protect their identity and cohesion—but at a high cost. When secrecy becomes normalized, it not only isolates members from the outside world but also distorts truth, weakens integrity, and impairs sound decision-making.

Julie connects these ideas to the broader political and social landscape, examining how excessive government document classification reflects an over-boundaried system that al...

But maybe a large part of our population really does think it is a good idea to kill possible drug traffickers, in international waters, who may be trying to sell to willing adults in the United States.
