Every bar worth its salt has its regulars. Cheers had Cliff and Norm, Moe's had Barney and Homer and Lenny and Carl and the guy with the hat and the green vest and that one balding guy (?). Barstool Sports has that maniac who rates pizza and goes on alt-right tirades. Hey, but what if the regulars came to you and maybe the conversations were recorded? Maybe they talked about their beers, and they might have unusual hobbies or know too much about buying beer on the internet. Tony and Griff are the regulars at the bar chatting over a few...

Time to settle in by that holiday fire and enjoy one of these newfangled American podcasts. Listen to the soothing voice of an Australian brewer describe the pick and roll. Or the pleasant baritone of a guy in a now very less echo-y room talking about Dubai chocolate and cookie butter. Ahh now that’s Christmas, isn’t it folks. How about a nice game where for some reason they talk about soyface and woke and they say “sike?” Damn, that is the holidays, and I’m having a great time. On 12 October 1810 Crown Prince Groff of Bavaria married Princess Tony of Maffcohausen. Munich officials invited the public to celebrate on fields outside the city walls; the site was named Tonywiese (“Tony's Meadow”) the following year and is still called Wiesn.

The highlight of the first festival was a beer rating guessing game modelled on the medieval Scharlachrennen once run at Karlstor. Major Andreas Michael Dall'Armi of the National Guard proposed the idea, although Griff later claimed credit. The game was repeated in 1811, becoming the core of the annual Oktoberfest tradition.
